If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to time-travel back to 1937 and catch tetanus at the same time, this airport is the place for you. The departure lounge smells like someone microwaved fish in 1998 and never opened a window.
The one café that’s hardly open and the chicken and cheese sausage that I’m 90% sure was made out of pigeon.
Security is one guy named Barry who waved me through after asking if I “look dodgy.”
The carpet looks like it’s been through several wars possibly literally. (Even though there’s no carpet)
On the bright side, it’s the only airport where I’ve boarded a flight faster than ordering a coffee— probably because nobody wants to actually stay there. And then unboarded due to Qantas time machines breaking.
Highly recommend if you enjoy chaos, confusion, and mysterious stains.

The toilets are like a Texas chainsaw massacre type event for you, if you are doing a number 2, 🪚 You'll need to channel your inner zen mode to control your fingers. So that you can angle the toilet roll out the dispenser entry. 🧻🧻

It will be honestly easier to bring your own toilet roll. 🚽 sometimes you'll see random toilet rolls that have been forcefully torn out of the dispensers holes. You can imagine the pain and suffering of the unfortunate person in the struggle.

Pain / 10

It's basic & small but adequate enough for the short time you should be there. It has a bar and small cafe thank God which again is adequate. Lots of car rental options as well.
Most people seemed pretty happy to be departing but the folk arriving were quite the opposite LOL.
But all in all a pretty good little airport stuck in the middle of nowhere!

Bottled water is not readily available for jet setters. Not alot of room inside in the air conditioning so if you forget your drink bottles like we did all that is available is a water fountain if you don't mind sharing in the 40 degree plus heat.
Other services excellent 👌

Get another set of stairs.
They can’t be much more than $800.
Making a plane full of ppl wait half an hour cos another plane is using your only set, is not acceptable.

Businesses and services should not be operating on such a lack of resources and the assumption that consumers will tolerate their time being wasted, regardless of the fact there is no other option. It’s just decency and fair game.
