For such a remote location it is an amazing museum. It contains several different and interesting sections including art and stories from the Tiwi people, their peoples contribution to sports (primarily AFL) and the history of why Tiwi was an important place during the bombing of Darwin. At only $5 entry it is exceptional value and should be a must see if you are on Tiwi.

A lot of different displays covering Tiwi history, WWII, sport, culture and beliefs. We spent about an hour wandering around the museum. Love the story about Line up Louis. Great value at $5 per person.

The museum features different section starting with traditional culture and stories from the Dreamtime and going through the natural environment, stories from the mission days, WWII and an AFL Hall of Fame.
If you're not going with a tour, make sure to donate $10 and ask to see the sound and lights presentation.
The staff are very friendly and happy to help but are quiet so, they might not initiate conversations but they'll answer your questions.
There's also a little gift shop at the end that sell art created by the staff.

Hands down, the BEST museum in the Northern Territory and top three in Australia. The dedication of the women who run this place is inspiring. It's truly a knowledge centre. I always learn so much when I walk through this incredible space.
