About 12 months ago I came in here for a biopsy of a lump on my thyroid. The Dr I saw was awful. He was rude, and as someone else has experienced, I was also told to stop crying. He was impatient and did not show an ounce of compassion. I have a fear of needles which was made clear to them - didn’t care. My mum was in there with me and actually had to tell the doctor to stop speaking to me the way he was. I’m about to have a 12 month review of said lump, and I am DREADING coming back here. Will hopefully get my ultrasound elsewhere but if another biopsy is needed… unfortunately Mackay has no where else to go. That doctor has made my anxiety around medical procedures worse and in my opinion, should have his licence taken off him. Being told “you’re wasting my time” is not okay. And to the assistant in the room when this was happening, you are just as awful for not saying anything. Don’t come here if you don’t have to. Would give 0 stars if it was an option.

Great staff who take all the precautions with my wife’s MRI as she has stents. Thanks for taking the time to make her feel comfortable as she hates these tubes. ❤️

Normally fantastic and very caring. Unfortunately , yesterday I went in to have a ct guided injection in my lower back. From the first moment I went in with my carer in the room, the nurse was extremely cold and dismissive when I told her I was scared as I had a past bad experience with the positioning of the needle and needed a bit more local antiseptic and someone to hold my hand when the needle went in. I had to repeatedly ask her that in the room and when she finally did, it wasn't my hand she was holding but my back. The needle hurt so badly as they didn't wait for the local to work and were rough putting the injection in. I was on that table sobbing and was told to stop crying. The bedside manner of both her and that doctor was so horrific I cried myself to sleep last night. My leg felt like it was paralysed yesterday and I struggled to get in the car. The keeping me there for an hour observation as explained by reception didn't happen. Unfortunately, they were 2 of the worst medical staff I have ever had and am really hoping to speak to someone in charge about this treatment. My phone number is on the medical records

The girls who dealt with me were so kind, nothing was too much trouble to make sure that I was as comfortable as possible and warm. The doctor was very good too on the occasions he had to do procedures. Receptions staff were also friendly and efficient
