Rochelle is a professional extortionist. They are unethical in their practices. They will in 1 week change an amount owing from $7000.00 to $16,000.00 to $24,000.00. They refuse to provide invoices, disclose what amounts were for, update payments made and will not acknowledge pending disputes without ensuring they add as many legal fees they can think of in the mean time. My issue was with the MIA property group who act as fraudulently as this legal firm. The matter was heard at VCAT while I was in hospital, they were cc’d on the emails where. I request a re hearing(the amount was reduced by around $15,000.00 from its peak). 1.5 months later while waiting for the rehearing date they increased the bill by over. $10,100.00 with 7 days to pay. They are professional at lies and extortion. Nothing more.

I came to Rochelle because she was recommended by my mother. I gave her my trust and business because of this. My previous conveyancer unfortunately passed away so at the time I was looking for a new conveyancer/ solicitor. I've done many property purchases before and this company is the most expensive conveyancer I have used yet. Not only did she charged the highest, she also did not made it clear what all the fees will include and all the other added costs at settlement. I asked her team to provide all the invoices for the disbursement and they did not/ could not. I gave up on chasing as I was not getting nowhere.

I was okay with all of that but the worst part is yet to come....

Her team did not give me the choice of hard copy title and or electronic. They just automatically did an electronic title without giving me the choice. Never had I experienced this before. When I asked them for a copy of my title they told me that this will cost extra. Normally in the past after settlement when I asked for my title in my previous settlements my past conveyancer provides this original to either myself or the bank.

I did not get anywhere so I left it thinking that when I start building on the land that I purchased, my bank could retrieve this during their title search.
I understand there have been these new changes due to the introduction of electronic processes but the least they can do is at least explain this to their client properly. They cannot just expect for all their clients to know this.

Fast forward 7 months later when I'm ready to build. My bank tried to access my title electronically and they could not make any changes. Because this company made themselves controller of my title without asking me or letting me know of this process. When I asked them why they have done this without letting me know, they just ignored my question so many times. Rochelle just demanded more money and her response to all my question was "TO PAY" without any other explanation. No apology was provided at all or an explanation why this was not explained prior to settlement. It seems to me that they are using this new electronic processes as a way of trapping customers to pay more money...

I spoke to PEXA and they told me that this process of changing control over is very easy and quick but this company charged $350 for it. They did not take into account or let their customers know this process / options and extra costs because they know once they make electronic title as the option they can put themselves as controller and then you have to go back to them and pay more money for them to make any changes.

I spoke to ASIC and ACCC to lodge a formal complaint. If you have a similar problem with this company, speak to ASIC & ACCC also.

When I asked Rochelle to explain this, she was very belligerent on the phone. Her responses were rude and crude. She kept avoiding our questions. My mother also contacted her as she was the one who referred me to this company but she was also rude to my mum when she asked the same question.

At the end I had no choice but just to pay to get the control changed to my bank done because my bank is waiting.

I would definitely not recommend this company due to my horrible experience.

Were engaged to collect body corporate fees from me for my investment property, which I had missed paying due to moving house. Issued demand notice to my investment property instead of to my home, so my tenant was aware there were proceedings against me. Then, despite me advising their client of my new address, issued VCAT notice to my old house, so the person who bought the house from me was aware of VCAT proceedings. Raised this with them 3 times and never received acknowledgement or apology. When taken to VCAT, they were ordered to reduce their fees as they had billed me for work they shouldn't have completed.
