Cheap and cheerful
I chose Stella Settlement as it was recommended to me by a broker and found them to be marginally cheaper than other settlement agents. My transaction turned out to be a bit more complicated than expected with their being issues with the air conditioning unit during the final inspection of purchasing the property.
The settlement agent I was dealing with was very pleasant and friendly however, overall, I thought Stella could have done a bit more to negotiate a better outcome. I had to draft most of the wording to the seller to negotiate compensation for the damage done and I would have expected Stella to be more involved with the process. The settlement agent also refused hold any funds in a client account till the air con unit was fixed and from speaking to other lawyers and estate agents since the transaction I have been told this would have been a much better outcome. Overall, the service was not bad but involved more stress than was needed, so you get what you pay for.
