Obviously some people had have good experiences with Tenent settlements. Unfortunately we cannot say the same. We are buyers who had a settlement handled by them at the beginning of 2021. The general lack of good quality service they provided could have been overlooked, and would have earned them 2-3 stars (having to follow up progress instead of being kept informed, unaware of certain terminology/processes involved in our loan, leaning on the mortgage broker to follow up with the bank rather than doing it themselves, MISCALCULATION of late settlement fees which would have cost us more had we not picked it up ourselves).

However, the lack of professionalism involved when we drew their attention toward a perceived conflict of interest - they were representing both us and the seller in a situation where the settlement had been delayed by the banks - was unacceptable. Not only did we have to question the COI ourselves, rather than them declare it when we began to dispute late settlement fees, they then attempted to withdraw their representation of us, (despite earlier that day informing us they would not need to) on the Friday afternoon before settlement without even ringing us to tell us they were doing so. The only contact was via email, which given the importance of the situation was entirely insufficient as a means of contact, as we needed to arrange a new settlement agent IMMEDIATELY before the weekend to ensure we would not be further punished with more late settlement fees. Not good enough considering we had communicated on the phone that same day in the morning (when the COI was raised). Attempts were made by senior management to apologise for their mistake but the damage was done as the whole process was incredibly stressful.
I feel it important for others to know our story and be wary. Based on other reviews they appear capable of acceptable service, but it wasn't the case for us.

The ladies were great. We had a few issues with the delay of our finance coming through thanks to our bank. Tennant settlements resolved the issue by repeatedly following up with the bank.

Throughout the whole process they were professional and kept us informed - easing a stressful process.
