Rebecca called my company for a rodent and construction inspection on a house she just bought. I explained that we charge $75.00 plus tax for the inspection but the cost will go toward the cost of the job if she hires us for additional or later work. Rebecca agreed and we scheduled her for the very next day at noon. I showed up on time and did a complete walkthrough with her daughter. I answered every question her daughter asked. Daughter explained animals were in-between the ceiling of the first and 2nd floor. I explained what would be done and the process to remove the animals. I called Rebecca’s phone right when I left the property and left a voice message. I spoke with Rebecca on the phone a few hours later and explained the inspection. Rebecca texted me shortly after the conversation with not so nice wording, saying my prices are too high and she would not be paying the inspection fee, despite my having responded quickly (the next day); having reviewed the situation; and having provided my observations on it to her. She asked me not to contact her again and I obliged; but then the next day she initiated contact again.
My take away from this would be to tell others to be careful, and to suggest getting pre-payment.
