You can go onto the legal aid website and represent yourself in court without a lawyer by filing your own paperwork to the court, signed by a justice of the peace and then serve to the other person/party you are going to court against.
More and more people are representing themselves in court because lawyers refuse to answer calls, make unnecessary emails that cost you money and do NOT give you all the information you need to support your case/claim so it can be dragged on sometimes for years.
$$$$ money for the lawyers.
I suggest you read up on your rights and represent yourself.

Less than helpful, if I could give negative stars I would, for being not only unhelpful but a waste of time. You cannot get through on the phone, even if you call twenty times. You leave a message then they only try to call you back the next day at 7:30am even though their office hours state 9-4pm. I’ve requested a call during business hours but they ignore it +call again at 7:30am. Legal Aid recommended them but they’re useless. Wasted a week +a half bouncing from Legal Aid to Community Legal to Women’s Legal Services +none of them can help me, all too busy or don’t even bother trying to get back to you at a reasonable time. Guess I’ll have to use almost my entire fortnightly Centrelink payment for one hour of professional legal help, heaven help me if I need a second hour!?

’m so disappointed in this service, you’re supposed to help victims not make us more stressed +waste our time! 😭

I highly recommend these services, the support i received has helped me tremendously . Everything was explained to me in terms I was able to understand, I felt safe expressing myself and attending court.
Jessica Vu is fantastic, I can't praise her enough. She showed compassion, zeal, empathy and made the whole process alot smoother than I was expecting.

I cannot recommend Shiva and these mob highly enough. Shiva goes above and beyond for the safety of children. After not being heard by numerous government departments for over a month regarding the safety & wellbeing of my Grandbabiez, I was told about Shiva & quickly made contact with her. Not only did she LISTEN to my concerns but she also ensured my Grandbabiez were placed back into a safe & loving environment. I’ll be forever grateful for Shiva & her assistance❣️

Called to get some legal advice and have a lawyer appointed to me for a family case. They said they would call back but never heard back from them at all! Was also very rude on the phone, attitude needs adjustment and need better communication skills
