Well, a mixed bag with this place. Sign outside said meals 12 till 2. It was before 1:30 but the lass behind the bar said she'd have to check if the meals were on. They were. Lucky us. We both ordered the fish and chips, and schooners of beer. Strange, we were served pots of beer, which the lass said were schooners. Um, no, they are not. A schooner is 425ml; a pot/middy is 285 ml. I could not be bothered arguing. Seems to be good way of ripping off tourists. If we had not already paid for our meals, we would have drunk the MIDDIES and left. The meals were a small piece of supposedly snapper and a small serving of chips. The best part was that you got tartare sauce and a large slice of lemon, and I have to admit the battered fish was cooked correctly and so were the chips. The lemon was really juicy, and when I asked the cook (owner?) who shuffled back and forth, where he got them from, his conversation was, 'From the tree,' as he shuffled off. Nice talking to you. Over 5 years of traveling, we love country pubs with their hospitality, friendly locals, and good food. This place has not read the book on how to provide any of it.

Well Iā€˜ve never given a bad review before, I’d rather say nothing. But, as I said to the owner, ( who didn’t seem at all surprised or interested) I’ve been all around this country for 50 yrs eating at pubs, truck stops and dodgy road houses, and never ever have I been served up a meal as bad as this. For the so called special of porterhouse steak with veg & mash. I can tell you that it was NOT medium, could not be cut with the knife supplied, was mostly grizzle and fat and so overcooked it was like a piece of rubber. The veg (would obviously expect frozen out here) weren’t properly thawed. Anyway it was the worst excuse for a meal that any of us had experienced. Stan didn’t even offer to give our money back ($36). We’ve supported the pub 3 times before ( not for a meal) but won’t be going back anytime soon.

Expensive given a poor quality meal: Overcooked, tough, dry, grilled snapper, soft (frozen) veg and OK salad. Uninviting dining areas, wiith an nauseating odour of carpet deodoriser. Sticky tables, etc.
So sorry we ate there!

Well, let me buzz about the Yalgoo Pub for ya! Flew on in with my coworker, hungry as a horse after a day's work. Now, it ain't no fancy place, not like those highfalutin' joints in rich Carlton, but for a teensy town, it's a right decent spot.

Got me the fish and chips, and let me tell ya, it was a catch worth buzzing about. The co-worker, they dug into a schnitzel that hit the spot too. Ain't a grand selection of beers on tap, but when that sun's burning hot, those few brews sure do the trick.

So there ya have it, folks! Yalgoo Pub might not be no city slicker paradise, but it's a cozy nook for a hungry pair like us. If I had more legs, I'd give it a solid two thumbs up!

Basic but comfortable motel i a really remote area of the WA outbacks. Container type good sized rooms with small bathrooms, plus some rooms in the main building with outside bathrooms. Good for a short stay. It closes its doors early (21:15) but someone will open if you arrange late arrival ahead of time. Food is good but limited selection, breakfast basic mostly in packets inclusive instant coffee. Friendly attentive personnel (could be owner family). Friendly guard dog which can be noisy in the evening.

We always love stopping in town and having a meal. I don't know if it's because we are out bush eating camp food or not but the food at the yalgoo pub is always awesome šŸ˜Ž
